Sansa E250: File system corrupted
(1/1)
tate886:
Hi folks,
I have rockbox up and running just fine on my sansa E250. But, I cannot upload music, delete music, or play music files. They do not show up on the player, and when trying to access them from the computer, some are in folders which the computer says are currupted. Other files produce an eror, Cannot read from disk"
The file sy stem is a complete mess, with triplicate files showing up wehre only one of that MP3 was uploaded.
How can I fix a corrupted file system on this player? How do I format it safely? Or, should I just buy a new one?
Thanks.

You shouldn't need to either format it or buy a new one. Try running chkdsk: http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/chkdsk.htm

thank you, the chkdsk worked beautifully. I wish I'd thought of it before I lost so many files, but now I can put them back on again, at least.
