iPod Nano 1G wont boot, or go into disk mode...

Llorean:
Another option is to, as soon as the screen clears, turn on hold and leave it on. It should cause it to boot the apple firmware.

Ductoman16:
Awesome, that seemed to work. I thought to load the non-default OS you had to hold down the rewind button.

~Thanks

Llorean:
No, you either hold down the menu button, or turn on the hold switch. As the manual should say. Holding rewind is for a different player.

Ductoman16:
Well, iPod Linux told me to hold down the rewind button for the Apple firmware. But the point is that it works now.

Llorean:
iPod Linux has a different bootloader than Rockbox. I can't imagine why you would follow their instructions for our software, especially when our manual contradicts them.
