Updating Rockbox on Ipod 5g

(1/1)

deesguys:
I've been running rockbox on my 60gb 5g video since july 2006. I decided to update my rockbox version today, the ipod manual said to just download the new version of rockbox and copy it onto the ipod on top of the old version and just overwrite the files. I did this and now the new version won't load, just get this:

Rockbox boor loader
Version: 20060126-1839
IPOD version: 0xFFFFFFFF
TOSHIBA MK6008GAH
Partition 1: 0x0B 57121 MB
Model: ipvd
Checksum: 3B3325A
Sum: 3B3325A
Rockbox loaded.

And thats it, it just sits there. Luckily I backed up my original .rockbox folder and if I copy that back onto the Ipod it loads rockbox again. The original version I have is CVS-060629.

Any help would be appreciated

AlexP:
As your bootloader is really old, you also need to update that.  Follow the instructions in the manual for bootloader installation and you should be fine.

You are going to be so happy with your upgrade.  I can't even begin to mention all that has happened in the last 18 months.

3 - Adjustable screen brightness.
4 - Album art.
5 - WMA (not DRM'd) playback.
6 - Icons in the menus and browser.
7 - New main menu.
8 - Last.FM support.
9 - Realtime AAC (not DRM'd) playback.
10 - Video player.  (Not fullspeed on 5th gen)
