Rockboxed iPod Photo completely drained after being off?

I thought Rockbox turned the iPod fully off!  I was listening to it last night and when I turned it off it still had a few hours worth of battery left.  Woke up this morning and it was totally drained, it would not even boot into disk mode when attached to the computer until after maybe 10 minutes.  Can anyone tell me for sure if Rockbox turns the iPod off, or is it just some kind of sleep mode??
