Track Skipping
« on: February 28, 2008, 01:14:10 PM »
Version r16443-080228
Using iRiver iHP-140

After downloading the latest version of Rockbox I am having problems with track skipping during playback.

All files are FLAC and appear correctly in "Files". They also appear correctly when I manually skip through them and even show up correctly under "Next Track" until a couple of seconds before the current track finishes.

I have had a look at the settings and all seems to be OK but clearly something isn't.

Any ideas/solutions would be appreciated.

(Apologies if this shoild have been posted elsewhere or has already been dealt with, I did have a search but couldn't see anything).

Thanks.

This is a known problem. I'm experiencing similar problems on my 30GB iPod video, and I have already talked with a couple of the devs in IRC about this.

We'll let you know when we manage to find out what's causing it.

Thank you for your reply.

I was beginning to think that perhaps I had messed up my settings - especially when "Exile On Main St." seemed to be playing back in alphabetical order.

That changed when "Loving Cup" (track 9) was played between "Sweet Black Angel" (track 8) and "Ventilator Blues" (track 12), after which there was no obvious pattern to the playback sequence.

At the moment I am listening with r16180-080129 and everything is as it should be.

I've been having the same problem with FLAC and MP3 albums in the r16441-080228 and  r16452-080229 versions, but I've gone back to r16342-080218 and the problem seems to have disappeared now...
