Gapless playback

I see that there have been many posts about this, but I haven't seen anything that suggests that this is being worked on.  The only post that "fixes" the problem loads an old version, which doesn't seem to be available anymore.

I just have a few albums that need to be gapless...I re-encoded one to VBR Ogg (after reading that MP3 really isn't gapless), and though other software seems to play it flawlessly, RockBox puts what appears to be a random-sized gap between tracks.  I tried turning up the skip buffer to 30s, which had no effect.  I have a 4G Greyscale iPod with r16442, the latest as of this post.

The original poster is wondering and asking if anyone is working on improving gapless play at present/seeking any update on this.

In that case please do not ask for progress reports in these forums. It especially did not warrant a new thread for that purpose.
