simple playlist functions - manual clarity
« on: February 25, 2008, 04:17:16 PM »
Well after reading the playlist section a couple of times, I'm still scratching my head as to how one can add single songs to a playlist.

Starting from scratch, say I have track 2 on album X and track 9 on album Y - how can I make a playlist to hear these tracks in succession?

If anyone can clarify this, I will jot down a short set of instructions for possible inclusioon in the manual or a playlist FAQ.

I.e. Navigate to track 2 for album X, push and hold select to summon the context menu. Go to "Playlist", and then choose Insert Next. Then navigate to track 9 on album Y, and repeat the procedure. You now have a playlist with those two tracks in it.

Which player do you have?

I thought "hold select" on the song you want was pretty clear, but if it's not I'll try to be more specific - but I need to know which player you have.

GodEater - my post was in response to Lloreans initial post.  We posted replies at the same time.

Is this query common?  If it is I'm happy to make a paragraph for the manual giving a bit of detail.  If it is uncommon - let's just put the entire need for this thread down to my own pinheadedness!!

Um - it's not regular no - but I do think the "Context menu" stuff could do with clarification in the manual. So if you think you can do a better job than what's there already - please feel free to write something up.

One important clarification is that the manual needs updating on the term. It calls it the file menu but now it can be used on much more than files and is almost universally by people called the context menu.
