issues with ipod/
pyriel:
ok i am having multiple issues with my ipod and its not rockbox that is causing these issues im quite sure, when trying to transfer music through itunes, i either get "unknown error (-69)" or "cannot find ipod etc." then i tried to go around this by just moving files onto the ipod like a thumbdrive, it works sorta, until i get a "cyclic redundancy check fail" and then everything freezes up for a couple minutes with either a: ipod is not recognized and i have to disconnect and reboot to disk mode, or b: i can get a couple more songs maybe a full album onto the pod. now it was working before, i had gotten about 5 albums onto the ipod this way and rockbox recognized them and would play them, then it all went haywire and i had to restore the ipod and start from scratch. i tried looking for the error (-69) on itunes.com but i think we all know how big corporations are, dead end after dead end. i figured id ask here and hopefully get a little more insight on this, cause my curiousity has peaked with this program and im trying to learn as much as i can about it so i can play with it in my free time
Llorean:
Could you please attempt to use capital letters. It makes the text much more readable. It sounds like you've suffered some form of hardware failure, I'd recommend checking the iPod's disk for errors.
pyriel:
Sorry about the non- capitals. I've tried that and it didn't show anything. I am thinking that it is a hardware issue. Luckily I have another one on the way, this would be two that have bit the dust on me now.
pyriel:
I spaced out and forgot to add this on the last post, would it be unadvisable to circumvent itunes and just put the music/video files on the ipod, like a reg usb mass drive?
Llorean:
Please use the modify function, as per the forum guidelines.
And no, doing that is perfectly acceptable with Rockbox.
