SanDisk E280 V1 no longer recognised under Win Vista once Rockbox installed
(1/1)
sansamaniac:
Successfully installed Rockbox on my Sandisk Sansa E280, but on connecting it to my PC it is no longer recogised as a device (or devices, as it has a micro SD card on board).
Screen shows it is connected with the Rockbox USB image, but nothing happens.
Suggests it needs a USB driver?
Can't see anything in the player's settings.
Have I got to boot in original firmware mode to add files to the player, or am I missing something? User manual has *nothing* to say about connectivity or transferring files from PC to player - a bit of an omission imho.
Like the interface generally, especially once you realise you can tweak the fonts so you don't need a microscope to use the player! >;o) Like the fast boot - very good. Mad props to everyone who has worked so hard on development - just a few rough edges to smooth off.
Please help if you can.
Thanks.

For the time being, yes. Rockbox's own USB drivers are currently under development and will probably be implemented in the relatively near future, but until then, use the original firmware.

Thanks for that.
