Ipod Video won't boot into Original Firmware Help please!

I installed rockbox onto my 30gb 5.5g ipod, and when I try to boot into the original firmware using the hold switch, it says loading original firmware and then it reboots. if i leave the hold switch on it does this over and over. If I take off the hold switch it just reboots into rockbox. Any help?

would it be any different if I uninstall and then reinstall manually?

We don't provide support for other install methods, and they can damage your iPod. Try the official way, then come back if it still shows that problem. Or ask him for help if you want to use his way.

the manual is for the Ipod video, does that work for the 5.5g video as well? also where it says use the official installer, will this work for 5.5 as well? sorry for the questions, but all the other ipod hacks like Ipod Wizard, and ipodlinux are different for 5 and 5.5 generation ipods.

oh and where exactly is the official installer? is that rockbox installer x? or do you suggest doing it the manual way?

Read the manual. It tells you where the files you need are. It is NOT installer X. If the download does not come from download.rockbox.org, it is not official.

ok srry for my complete lack of knowledge (last time i did all of this was back when the minis came out) but to uninstall do you just delete all the rockbox folders, or is it more complicated. Thanks for helping!

Read the manual. It tells you how to uninstall.

But because you used their installer, go ask them, we can't know that our installation method will fix the problems their installer created, since it sounds like it may have corrupted things. So you'll need to get their help with finding out what their program did.
