ah, i thought it was a split lead or something...

It didnt occur to me that somone wouldnt realise that a mini-usb cable doesnt contain any circuitry, and the design is standard, so it would make no difference compared to the iriver cable.

EDIT: BTW, the hardware IS there, you can solder 2 extra wires internally to connect it. iRiver cheaped out on not putting in a circuit to prevent both connections being used at once...

Yeah. You can make it work but I'm sure as hell not going to solder components on my working 120 just so I can brick it with solder splash! :o iRiver doesn't give us a USB charging capability by default.

nobby: I agree, but they could have remove the power jack at all and have the ac adaptor end with a usb connector. -> like apple does I think. (firewireish, of course)
