Can't install on c240

Hi, for some reason none of the downloadable rockbox software can detect my c240. I'm thinking this may be because my player doesn't appear to have an option to change the USB connection method as stated in the rockbox instructions. Is this normal? I have access to an e260 and it has the USB options.

GodEater:
Have you checked to make sure the c200 is a version 1?

pixelma:
There are two possibilties on the c200 why it wouldn't have an option to set it to "MSC" mode which you need for the bootloader installation. (1) As GodEater said, it could be a "v2". Then you're out of luck because Rockbox doesn't run on those currently. (2) Your c200 runs one of the two firmware versions in which Sandisk removed the option for MSC mode in the menu. Unfortunately I didn't get around putting this into the manual yet...  :-\

The easiest and safest way to find out is to check the original firmware's version (in the original firmware chose Settings > System Info) - if the version number starts with "03.xx.xx" then it's a v2. Versions "1.01.05/06" are the ones that don't have the MSC mode setting, then you have a few options what you can do about it (but please, just check first).

Strife89:
Have you even tried to do a manual install? ;)

Ok,

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'm running 01.01.05P, so that explains the no MSC mode. So you said I have options; I'm guessing changing the original FW somehow?
