e280 >weird behavior w/ bookmarks

Long time rockbox user here - I've used rockbox on an iriver ihp-140 for years, and have recently acquired a sandisk e280 which I'm trying to set up to replace the iriver. Mostly it works well, but bookmarks seem to be not working the way I'm used to - or perhaps it's kerflapped in the current build? I've got startup set to resume playback, and create bookmarks on stop on, and load last bookmark off (although on seems to do the same things) - these are the setting that I've used on the iriver for years. When I turn off the machine, it dutifully says bookmark created. When I restart it, instead of starting where it left off, as it's supposed to, it starts either at the beginning of the next tune, or sometimes the beginning of the tune it left off at. Never where it's supposed to. What's going on?

Thanks - I installed an older build (1/17) and it fixed the problem.
