No sound and freezing

(1/1)

Jawinota:
Apologies

After my F10 was showing a constant system error, I installed Rockbox and it seemed to install okay, except there's no sound.  My headphones are fine, and I don't think it's a hardware problem as there was no problem with the sound on the gigabeat up to the moment the gigabeat software died.

Also, when I try to skip tracks or move from the "now playing" screen, Rockbox freezes on me to the point where even the power button doesn't work and I have to switch the battery off.

Well sorry to disappoint you, but if your player already had problems with the original software, you most likely have a hardware problem. And rockbox can not correct that.

If you want to rule out a hardware problem, re-install the original firmware (or maybe even update to the latest original firmware) and see if that works correctly. Also investigate what the system error means.

Soader03:
The SAME thing happened to me... I called Toshiba and they said that the mainboard was done. I just bought a Zune!
