5.5g ipod video rockbox video help

(1/1)

zpy15:
hi, well i'm trying to put videos on my ipod so that i can just put it straight up into my ipod so i can delete it off of my computer (my computer can't handle much more stuff) and so i can watch it on my ipod too. well you can't do this on regular apple os without syncing it. i think you can just put the video file in to your ipod and just find it with rockbox and play it (as long as its mpg or mpg2) will that work? i saw a post that said you have to convert it into a certain format size.

Details on what to do and how to do it are here : http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginMpegplayer

Although bear in mind we actually recommend you still use the Apple firmware to playback videos on the 5G and 5.5G iPods - since the original firmware allows the use of the hardware accelerated video decoder chip. When you playback in Rockbox, you'll likely think the performance sucks...
