Rockbox H140 won't start...
CavesOfTQLT:
Hi. It's been a while since I last was here so my H140 was running an old version of Rockbox. Decided recently to do a fresh update so used the format feature in iRivers firmware to delete everything.
I then d/l the current build of the 120/140 rockbox, extracted it to the root folder, but the player always wants to boot the iRiver system when it powers up.
I've checked over and over again. All the extracted files are located in .rockbox (hidden rockbox) and no other folder/s. I even resurrected an old Windows PC, installed 7-Zip (as it said in one of the other forum messages to someone having trouble), and used that to extract to root but it still won't play ball...
Did the boot-loader get an update in the interim period and I need to update that as well?
At the moment I'm completely and utterly flummoxed by all of this. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Rob.
CavesOfTQLT:
Just to add to the above. Am I right in thinking that there used to be another file outside of the .rockbox folder, way back when Rockbox was first being developed for the iRiver players?
GodEater:
rockbox.iriver used to live outside of .rockbox, but was moved into the .rockbox directory in the middle of last year some time for all targets.
CavesOfTQLT:
I thought I remembered a file that was outside of the folder! Okay, the file's been moved and success, Rockbox boots and the balls back in play! Many thanks GodEater!
GodEater:
I'd personally update your bootloader so you don't have to do this again...
