HELP! W/ 60 GB iPod video! format for pc? how w/o a pc?

ok. so i was real excited thinking i was gonna get it installed but i mean, this is stupid i cant format it to pc! i have a mac! why dont they make like a patch for it so it works on mac formated ipods.  but i looked in the help section, and it said enter this in the terminal: dd if=mbr-xxxx.bin of=/dev/diskN ,  but you put in your disk infor and stuff etc.  but it didnt do anything. it just says like no such command or somthing i followed the instructions carfuly. PLEASE HELP!! :-[

What "help section"? Going by that dd command, I'm assuming you mean this?  If not, I suggest you read that page.  Note that the procedure will completely remove all music/games/etc off the iPod, so make sure to backup.

I think you might have to prefix that command with "sudo" i.e "sudo dd if=mbr-xxxx.bin of=/dev/diskN".

Because that involves supporting a whole other filesystem (HFS+) which is

a)  A massive waste of resources on a limited DAP
b)  Pointless, as Macs, Windows and Linux can all read FAT32
c)  A significant amount of work for miniscule gain, as it is quite possible to create a 'WinPod' from a Mac

However, if you really think it is worth it, I look forward to seeing your patch (keeping in mind it shall not almost certainly not be included in rockbox)
