SOLVED - Is there a way to modify the menu options?

(1/2) > >>

drabina:
I have Sansa e250R player with Rockbox installed using RockboxUtility 1.0.3. Firmware works great and I like it a lot. One thing I would like to change is to disable some menu options. For example in Database menu I do not want to see all the options (Year, Track, User Rating, etc) as I do not use them. They just make the UI cluttered.

Is there a way to modify what gets displayed on the screen?

Thanks

AlexP:
Yes, you can set up the database to display exactly what you want:

Correct me if I'm wrong...

But to "disable" those extra menu items he's talking about, he'd need to either:

1) edit the .rockbox\tagnavi.config file which will get replaced everytime he installs a new SVN, or

2) create  a new .rockbox\tagnavi_custom.config with only the options he wants to see.

But if he goes with option # 2, the Menu will display the contents of the tagnavi_custom file first, AND the contents of the tagnavi.config file.

At least, this is how it displays on my iPod... looks like at some point, the tagnavi_custom used to replace the tagnavi contents.

You can get it to only display the content of your tagnavi_custom.config. This is described in the wiki page which was linked in the previous post. I also remember reading about this here (in the forums) not long ago, maybe last week... ;)

Thanks for the info. I have tried to copy the tagnavi.config, rename it tagnavi_custom.config and delete some options in the file but that messed up the Rockbox system. All I got was garbage on the screen when the Sansa rebooted. Will have to play with that little more.
