warning: can't boot OF with USB or crash in OF with USB with commit 16264/16259
redbull74:
i installed a new boot loader build (with sansapatcher) with commit 16264. now i can't boot into the OF with USB connected. it works with no USB connection during boot phase but if the OF is running and i connect the USB the OF crashes! so at the moment i can't install a new/other boot loader with sansapatcher :-(
i am not sure but i think the root cause is the commit 16259 which disables (power down) some HW within the rockbox boot loader so that the OF does not work correct anymore...
so be warned to use the current rockbox boot loader on sansa E200!!

Sounds like a job for: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SansaE200Unbrick
What version of sansapatcher are you using?
What version of the bootloader is it?
redbull74:
hello,
as i already wrote the sansa-patcher and the boot loader was build with commit 16264.
I solved my problem with the recovery mode (installing OF) and reinstallation of an older version (from 14.12.2007) of the rockbox boot loader. But i think there is still a problem with the current boot loader (probably since commit 16259).
MarcGuay:
The bootloader doesn't get updated every time a change is made to the Rockbox source. I think we might be confusing terms. The most recent sansapatcher is v0.6 from October 10th, 2007 and it installs the v4.0 bootloaders.
redbull74:
i build both the sansa patcher and the boot loader from the source files. the changes in 16264 effects files which are part of the boot loader sources.
i think the sansa patcher is fine but the source files for the boot loader may have a problem with the changes in 16259 -> disable (power down) some parts of the sansa hardware. so the warning is only for people who build the boot loader there own from the sources.
