Can't view any picture or video files.

On my Gigabeat F40 I can't see any .mpg or .jpg files in my file menu.
does anybody know how i can fix this?

Check what filetypes rockbox is set to show.

Oh, and they aren't in the .rockbox directory, are they?

How can you check?
and no, they're not in the .rockbox directory.

By going to the setting and seeing what it is set to.

I believe it is called view file types or something similar, and you can find it in the manual.
