Radio Data System in Rockbox, and Radio clock for iRiver H1XX

Hello,

do you think Rockbox could support RDS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System, especially for iRiver H1XX ?

And because this device don't have a clock it would be a solution to have the hour without having to modify the hardware, because RDS include time.

You require hardware in the DAP to support RDS - which the iRiver lacks.

This has been requested before.

Yeah, I had done a bit of reading and thought that it might be possible to extract the data using DSP routines in software but a friend of mine who knows his radio tells me that radios that do RDS need to have wider band IF stages - 'normal' radios filter out the the signal so no chance of extracting the data later no matter how clever you are.

Sounds plausible to me.
