Hello fellow Rockboxers
I looked in the manual and conducted a few searches but haven't found any results for my query as of yet. I have a sansa e250 with r16229-080205 and the Sansa firmwear is v 01.02.18A. I have the windows xp bootloader installed and i was wondering if i could also install the Mac OS X bootloader and run it off my MacBook as well. Will I have to uninstall Rockbox and then reinstall it with the Mac OS X bootloader or can i just put the Mac OS X bootloader on my Sansa e250 with the Win Xp on it still?
Thanks for everyones help.
LambdaCalculus:
Sansapatcher isn't the bootloader. It merely patches the Sansa's bootloader to run Rockbox.
If you already installed Rockbox, there's no more need for it (unless you're uninstalling). Your Sansa will connect to your Mac regardless of what OS the installation was done from.
AlexP:
Sansapatcher contains the rockbox bootloaders and applies them to your Sansa. It matters not a jot what operating system you use to install the bootloader. There is no WinXP or MacOS X bootloader, just the rockbox one. The only difference is the part of Sansapatcher that runs on your PC, it installs the same bootloader no matter where it is run from.
