id3 v2.4 replaygain
ddoonie:
I've searched far and wide to find an app for mac that will calculate replay gain values for mp3's, and i have finally found play. The only problem i have is that it only writes to id3 2.4, and i believe that rockbox only reads 2.3? After scanning some music, and loading into my ipod, rockbox is able to read the album replaygain field only, leaving the track field empty. Do you know of anyway around this, or how i can somehow get this to work? Or even if there are other mac apps that will work with rockboxes replay gain?
Thanks for your time
Darryl

Rockbox reads my few files that have ID3v2.4 tags files fine which I tagged with mp3tag in Windows. Album, title and so on are all displayed correctly - I never tried replaygain though. If this doesn't work for you I can only imagine that the program you found does not use the standard tag fields. Maybe you can find a program that does a better job on the UsefulTools wiki page.

Yeah. All my mp3s are replaygained & tagged with id3v2.4 by foobar2k. I've never had any problems.

I am 99 percent certain it is written in v2.4 (asked the developer similar questions haha). I believe that it is written in the correct fields, as i can load it in foobar2000 and it will read all fields... I can scan an mp3 and post it up here, i that would help anyone...
Thanks for your time!!

Please do. If it works in Foobar2000, it should work in Rockbox too. A short "dummy" file will do, as long as it has the right tags.
