How to enable screen display on X5

I'm not familiar with the X5, but on the Archos Jukebox V2 holding the function keys can enable the backlight without doing anything.  All brief presses are associated with actions, but not all extended presses are.

Or use the First Button Press Enables Backlight Only setting.
