How to enable screen display on X5

What is the best way to push any button on the X5 to make the screen light up without altering the current play.  At the moment I am sliding the hold key down (or up) to make the screen light up, but I imagine there's gotta be a better way of doing it.

Turn on the option first button press enable backlight (or similar, can't remember the exact name).  The first press on any button will turn the backlight on and nothing else if it is off.

yeah that's what I thought, but each press on every button, except the hold function, seems to carry out its command regardless of whether the backlight is on or not.

So you're saying that you already have this :

Settings -> General Settings -> Display -> LCD Settings -> First Button Press Enables Backlight Only

already set to "Yes", and it doesn't work ?
