When I open the .rockbox folder on my desktop a .DS_Store file appeared...

when i put it in the trash it just appears again

I'm guessing you're on a Mac.  Mac OS X generates that file - it contains thumbnails and folder settings or something, like thumbs.db and desktop.ini on Windows.  You can safely delete it, but OS X is just going to keep creating it.

I believe the Disk Tidy plugin removes these too.
