iPod - How to turn backlight off in disc mode ?
(1/1)
Mthrsuperior:
I can't seem to figure out how to get the back light to turn off when in disc mode.
I need the device in disk mode to work best with Media Monkey, however since the backlight is always on in disk mode, it takes forever to re-charge.
I tried the 'backlight on hold' setting but it has no effect in disk mode.
I realise I could boot into the Apple firmware when connecting to my PC but that creates another issue for me. ;D
thanks.
Llorean:
Considering Rockbox doesn't have a disk mode on iPods, your choices are between "AppleOS" and "Apple Disk Mode" which is what you're using...
Mthrsuperior:
I assumed it was Rockbox's disk mode because it's displaying the Rockbox "do not disconnect" graphic. Â Not the Apple one.
If I boot into Apple firmware and connect to my PC I see the Apple "Do not disconnect" graphic and there is no backlight.
But NM. I just realised I can boot into the Apple firmware and load the iPod with Media Monkey and it works fine.
safetydan:
Well your confusion seems to arise from assuming Rockbox has anything to do with "disk mode" on the iPod. Currently Rockbox does not do anything but reboot in to the Apple firmware when you want to mount it as a disk. What you're describing as "Rockbox graphics" is probably Apple's emergency disk mode.
Mthrsuperior:
Thanks Dan.
I edited my post above just as you made your post.
You're right I was confusing the emergency Apple graphics with the default Rockbox Theme.
If I squint and look real close I can see that it is in fact the old-school Apple font. ;D
This explains a few things :-[
Thanks
