Hi everybody! I' ve got a big problem, I can't install rockbox because windows doesn' t allow me to create a folder wit a dot in its name such as ".rockbox". It says me something like: error, specify the name of the file" Can you help? ???
Thanks a lot

LambdaCalculus:
You don't need to create the folder. If you download a build and extract it to your iPod, the folder and file structure will already be in place.

Why not just use Rockbox Utility instead?

And please make use of proper English in your future posts. The forum guidelines specify this.

I Tried but izarc (the zip manager I use) automatically creates a folder named "rockbox" not ".rockbox". Anyway I'm trying with Rockbox Utility now....Let's see

P.S. sorry for my English but it's not my native language...I'm italian and I'm studying it.

LambdaCalculus:
Use 7-Zip instead. It keeps the proper file folder names.

As for English, please don't use shorthand speak on the forums. That means write "you" instead of "u", "because" instead of "bcuz", etc. This is for our visually impaired and sighted visitors to the forums who need screen readers or translation software. Those kinds of programs get thrown off by shorthand speak.

Chronon:
You can also rename via the command prompt, just not via the GUI.

I also recommend 7-zip as a file archiving/extraction utility.
