Sansa e280 with 8gb Microsd?

(1/2) > >>

Is anyone successfully using their Rockoboxed e280 with an 8gb Microsd card?  They've started to go down in price (around $75) so I'm thinking of getting one... (I know the regular firmware only supports 2gb Microsds)

Hi, Been using a sansa e200 with a 6gb micro sdhc card for a couple of months now.. Works fine in the player bur I have to drag and drop files to it by way of a card reader . If it is in the e200 my  pc does not see it. Once I put it back in though after coping the files to it, there is no problem with the sansa seeing it. I expect you will need to operate the same way.

scarfy:
I second that.

If you get a MicroSD card, then try getting one that is packaged with a card reader.

I have a 2gb microsd card in my e280 right now.   Windows recognizes the 8gb regular drive in the e280 as an H: drive, then assigns a separate drive (I:) to the 2gb microsd that I just drag mp3s into without me having to take the microsd out and put it in a 'reader'... So, am I to understand that, for whatever reasons,  Windows won't recognize a larger card the same way?
