The Father Of Rockbox
« on: February 03, 2008, 10:17:47 AM »
Apple had Steve Jobs. Microsoft had Bill Gates.

I always wondered.... who is the Founding Father(s) of Rockbox? When did it all truly begin? I'm interested in the History of Middle Earth... um.... I mean the History of Rockbox....  :)

Björn Stenberg (Zagor) and associates, the 'big three' being Zagor, LinusN (Linus Nielsen Feltzing) and Bagder (Daniel Stenberg).

Just idle curiosity here, but are Bagder and Zagor related?

Cool. I think this is good information to put on the Rockbox site when it gets its new look. There should be a quick link to a page called Project History.

There is a kind of history/changelog here: http://www.rockbox.org/history.html

It doesn't really tell the story, but it contains some interesting milestones.

All three are still around and heavily involved.

You spelled my middle name "Nielson", but it's "Nielsen". :-)

My apologies - that would have been my guess.  I even checked which way round the first i and e were, but clearly assumed for the second half  :)
