Database questions
« on: December 02, 2007, 07:50:54 PM »
First question is a more specific question, second one is a more general.

First: I'm a NEW Rockbox user (less than three days). I've got a Sansa E270R, running the most recent build (r15869), and I have the option for gathering runtime data turned on. But no matter how many MP3s I add to my player, I cannot get the new ones to appear under "Recently Added" in the database. For example, I just copied over Velvet Revolver's "Come On, Come In", and after selecting "Update Now", I wait a few minutes, and it appears listed under the album, or under the Velvet Revolver entry in the artist list, but not in the "Recently Added" list. Any idea why?

Secondly, as I said, I have a Sansa E270R. I turn the player off and connect it to my PC, but before the original firmware connects to my PC, it does a Database Refresh every time. Is there a way I can stop it from doing this? I've got a lot of MP3s on my player, and it takes upwards of about five to seven minutes to go through everything.

Thanks in advance.

I'll give this one a bump as I'm having the same issue with "Recently Added" (Though I use an iPod). I run the most recent (as of yesterday) build of Rockbox and I do have "Gather Runtime" enabled.

Via searching, I've found this issue... Is it related?

Thanks.

In answer to bloodfyr's second question, no, I know of no way to disable this. It's just as annoying on my c250.  >:(

Reply to the second question: I have the e250R version with extra 2GB micro SD card and the player is packed with music. I never experienced any slowdown when connecting the player to the computer. At first, the Rockbox firmware kicks in but then it shuts down and Sansa original firmware loads. At this point the drive is visible under My Computer. Total time is maybe about 30 seconds. Just wanted to let you guys know.
