Rockbox won't play single tracks

<< < (3/4) > >>

Chronon:
I have not been able to reproduce this on my Gigabeat either.  I am checking again with my e280 using r16299 and am not seeing this behavior.  Can others who have posted here report whether or not they are still seeing this behavior?

I am not seeing the buffering/playlist problem reported in the other thread with this build either.  Will update to current SVN and report back.

*EDIT* I don't know why but it is now clearly exhibiting both problems.

Hello all,

Did some more testing.  I upgraded to build 16354-080219 and I'm running it on a Sansa E280r.  I am experiencing both the issue with a single track not playing and the following issue highlighted in another thread:
"When I select the first song of an album, it pulls it up properly, but the track is being listed as track 2.  It then goes properly to the next track, but lists it as track 3.  After the second track, it seems to self-correct itself, skipping over the real track 3 completely, and going to track 4, as well as displaying that it is track 4.
If I pull track 1 up and it's displaying it as track 2, I can hit the back button to restart the track, and it starts displaying it as track 1 properly at this point, and the problem goes away.  It's a simple work-around, but kind of a nuisance at the same time."
I think they are definately related, as in one example we skip right to track 2 even though it's the first track in the playlist, and then when a single track is played, I think it tries to skip to track 2 but there is no track 2 so it just gives up and doesn't play anything.

After even more testing, I realized that if I try to play a single track from the database in Artist or Album Artist it will not play.  But if I select it from Track, it finds it in the playlist (no. 243 it was) and it played fine.

Also, a coworker of mine also has a Sansa E280r, he is loaded with 16096-080117, and his works perfectly fine. Hope this all helps, as I want to keep using Rockbox.  Keep up the good work, and let me know if there is anything else I can test.

More testing...I downgraded to version r16137-080122 and all is now working well.  When I have time (don't know when that will be), I will slowly work my way back through more current builds to try and find where the issue was broke.  Don't hold your breath!

pholler:
Sorry...spoke too soon...it worked once on the older build, then back to broke.

Chronon:
pholler, thanks for your interest in helping to get some information on this problem.  However, the rules on these forums require that you modify your post if no one else has posted.  Please don't multi-post.
