I may seem like the hugest n00b, but I need help. (large(ish)) picture inside.

So I love the idea of rockbox, and think it's really cool and have everything that I want to install picked out, but one problem:

I can't find my Sansa on my computer. The following picture should explain everything, I've restarted the program after plugging in my Sansa, I've tried looking everywhere and am stumped for what to do.

(The ninth icon from the left is my player, but it doesn't appear in the menu given to me by the program.)

Your Sansa is using MTP mode.

Go to Settings > USB and set it to MSC. Then try again.

Got it working, you guys rock.

EDIT: erm, so I loaded it and everything, I turned it on and it said: "System restart" Turned off/on then started a loading bar saying system restore and then returned to the sansa main menu. What did I do wrong? (I used the autoloader, and haven't done anything else)

Could you be more specific?

"it said"?  What said?  Did the loading bar really say "System restore", or just something like that?  Is the "autoloader" Rockbox Utility?  

Are you sure you installed both the Rockbox firmware and the Rockbox bootloader?

Aha, so now I've installed the boot loader and now it's running.

So I guess somewhere along the way, rockbox deleted all of my music? so now I'm fixing that, but one more thing I'd like to ask you: I'm not completely sure how to install themes, and the manual isn't very helpful in this area (for me at least) help please?

I've never used it myself but I think the Rockbox Utility can give you a hand with that unless you have an iPod video.  Check out the extras link on the left panel otherwise...

I don't think the installation would have deleted all your music.. are you sure it's not all just hidden? To see hidden files and folders in Rockbox, set settings -> general -> file view -> show files to "all".
