ipod 4G won't boot into original apple FW
(1/1)
cabilyo:
Hi,
I have 4G Ipod that runs RockBox rev CVS 060903,
Playing is OK ,but when I plug the usb cable it reboots and hangup at apple Icon,
When I trying to go to Disk Mode it hangs up again in Apple Icon,
If I took the Hard Drive and place it on different Ipod I can copy files from/to it ,so it looks like something wrong with my RockBox boot loader
But how can I fix it without access to disk mode or normal mounted drive mode?
Thanks for your help.
GodEater:
The rockbox bootloader doesn't affect the operation of disk mode on the iPod - it can't.
So if the drive works in another iPod, but not in yours, it suggests there is something physically wrong with your iPod - not something wrong with Rockbox.

I see ,but how come RockBox is running perfectly ?
Doesn't is suggest that HW is OK?
Only booting when USB connected or trying to go to DiskMode,Original FW
won't work?
Thanks.
Llorean:
Because Rockbox doesn't use the USB hardware, so if there was something wrong with it, it wouldn't affect Rockbox?
