iriver h1x0 - USB modes

hi rockbox devs,

on the iriver h1x0,
is there a technical difference between the two usb modes,
between bootloader usb mode or the other (when i already booted the player)?

i often had slowdowns / breaks in data transfer and i think this only happened
while using the bootloader usb mode...
