vista, 5g, latest rb bootloader PROBLEM

(1/2) > >>

posners:
After I updated rockbox on my ipod 5g, when I plug it in to my Vista PC it recognizes it as a Rockbox and not as an ipod; it wants to try to locate the appropriate software, which it can't.  The screen on the ipod shows the normal music screen and not the "it's plugged into a pc" screen. Can't access it as a drive.  What to do?
TIA

LambdaCalculus:
Ignore the messages you're getting; what you're seeing is the (still incomplete) USB stack in Rockbox. Disconnect, reboot your iPod into the original firmware (press MENU+SELECT), then reconnect.

posners:
If I boot to the Apple firmware, then stick it in the dock, things work...would prefer to not have to do this...

LambdaCalculus:
Until the USB stack is complete, you'll have to use the Apple firmware for file transfers. That's how it is for now.

I'm sure customer service would be more than happy to give you your $0 back.
