Pandora UMPC
« on: October 04, 2008, 09:46:33 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone had considered porting RockBox to the new Pandora homebrew gaming console/umpc. I know this is a preemptive post, as no units have been produced (production starts next week). It is meant to be an open system, so I wouldn't figure that porting would be extremely difficult.

Here are the specs:
ARM® Cortex™-A8 600Mhz+ CPU
430-MHz TMS320C64x+â„¢ DSP Core
PowerVR SGX OpenGL 2.0 ES compliant 3D hardware
800x480 4.3" 16.7 million colours touchscreen LCD
Wifi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth & High Speed USB 2.0 Host
Dual SDHC card slots & SVideo TV output
Dual Analogue and Digital gaming controls
43 button QWERTY and numeric keypad

They have estimated 100+ battery life for mp3 play.

this is the pre release version with 3000 units worldwide? if any of the devs get one then they will probably decide tis not a good target anyway, but you never know.. it may happen

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

Since the Pandora is practically a netbook at this rate, Rockbox as an App would be best suited for this. See this thread here to see what Rockbox as an App is:
