It didn't specify not to download the updated version
updates are done for a reason, and i use the updated version of everything unless there are major security risks, or the update is absolute crap.

Also, I didn't pay attention as to when the wiki was written, and when 0.33 was released.  for all I know,  0.33 could have been released 2 days before I started this

If it didn't matter what version you downloaded, we wouldn't have specified a version number. But you can add a note, it's a wiki as I said.

...and that (sadly common) attitude explains why some of the documentation might not be up-to-date.
