What media players work?
« on: January 26, 2008, 10:54:19 PM »
First off, love rockbox, it has SOOOOOO many features. I got to play with it a lil on my toshiba f40 but because of my non-reading stupidity (lol) i didnt know it didn't support wma files ???. All of my music is ripped cds on wmp so you see my dilema. What player would easily convert my files to something compatable. I really want to have this on my toshiba f40! Just for the eq features alone is worth the upgrade! Anyways, thanx in advance and I can't wait to be apart of the rockbox movement soon!

Really? then why when i put rockbox on my f40 did it not initialize my data base? It recognized all 959 tracks but that's it. It never finished building data base. Also, when i did have rockbox installed, wmp11 wouldn't sync my f40. It said "device is using an outdated driver wmp can not recognize."

Because rockbox does not support DRM encumbered WMA, and the files you synced for use with the original firmware get DRM wrapped on the way over.

ok, that explains why it wouldn't build the database but why wouldn't wmp sync with my f40?

I don't know. I didn't write WMP. Rockbox presents itself as a standard UMS device, perhaps WMP doesn't like that.
