IPOD NOT BRICKED AT ALL BY ROCKBOX -NEED URGENT HELP
acidx:
hi, today i decided to remove rockbox. I rang the patcher and pressed u as said. I removed the .rockbox folder on the ipod manually. now when I loud it comes up with cannot load rockbox.ipod
now I know what to do now but neither Windows or Itunes recgonizes it???!?! no matter what I hold or press it does nothing. The menu , |>| buttons are both frozen and unpressable. It's got its backlight on and its wasting a lot of energy. How do i fix it?? How do make windows regonise it again and atleast format it. The reason it goesnt go to disk mode is because it doesnt have the boot files I think.
please help!

OK, the bootloader was not restored successfully. Simply reboot it by holding Menu and Select at the same time, then RIGHT AFTER IT REBOOTS hold Play and Select to force it into disk mode and connect it to the computer. Then, uninstall the bootloader and restore the original apple one. Problem solved. No need to format.

I was just about to suggest http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 put it into emergency disk mode (same as what you said) and then restore it with iTunes.
However if you restore the iPod with iTunes you will loose all data on the iPod and it will be reset to the factory settings.

did you read my post properly? i cannot even press the menu button and stiff. I've tried that.
can someone please help me with something that works
Llorean:
The buttons work. Follow the steps as listed, Rockbox cannot prevent them from working, so if they aren't working for you, you're not doing it right.
People are helping you with something that works, you just aren't doing it right.
