Double entries in H10 DB
« on: January 27, 2008, 10:12:26 PM »
I've been using rockbox on my H10 20gb for a few months and suddenly when I added new music and updated my DB I've gotten doubles of most of my albums (ie, each track shows up twice even though there is only one instance of it on the player). I tried using easyH10 to create a new database, but it still has the doubles.

1st, anyone know why this happened?
2nd, What is the best way to fix it? Can i dump my database and build a new one without the doubles, or how should I go about this?

Thanks.

EasyH10 has nothing to do with Rockbox. Are you talking about the OF database?

I'm not sure what OF refers to; I have not been using EasyH10 to create the database, but instead have been holding down the right button on the "Database" option from the main menu, and then going to update.

The database I am refering to is one of the options on the main menu after I boot, along with FM Tuner, Options, etc.

OF means Original Firmware; i.e. the firmware your H10 had on it when it was shipped.

no, I'm using Rockbox Firmware for sure. I've been uploading files using the emergency connection UMS reboot trick.

Are you using a current build of Rockbox?

If you want to delete the database, go into the .rockbox directory and delete every file with a .tcd extension.

Then when you start Rockbox, you can rebuild the database from scratch.

This suggestion worked. Thanks much.
