iPod 5G freezes after about 30 minutes of playing

I'm pretty sure no such thing exists because there's no support for embedded album art - Rockbox just seems to choke on it when it's present. I suggest you run some tests with files that DO contain album art and see if that's when your player freezes up, and if it is, either remove the embedded art from your files or stop playing them.
Have you tried the other iPod video build as others suggested?

No, that is a menu where you can look at various useful bits of information such as buffer levels etc. There is no debug mode to turn on.
I believe it is fairly easy to disable album art, there is something like a HAVE_ALBUM_ART define IIUC, although I haven't looked at the code. Nico_P on IRC is your album art man. However that won't help with any problems coming from having embedded album art, as as MarcGuay says rockbox does not support or try to use embedded album art anyway - the problem is in the metadata reading code that chokes if it is too large.

Not yet, because the "yesterday try" seems to point the direction through the album art issue (45 min of 220 kb/s mp3 are > of 32/64 MB isn't ? )
Mmm...at this point would be great if i could find a file that causes the problem every time i play it...
AlexP:
I would say your memory is indeed 64 mb if you get to 45 minutes @ 220 kbps. Which bootloader are you using?
Cagnulein:
i'm using this one.
Is it relevant? I've also installed iPodLinux :)
