Max memory card expansion for a Rockboxed e280

(1/2) > >>

hashmodium:
Just ordered an e280 and I was wondering what's the max I can expand the memory if I were to rockbox it? Sorry if this is listed somewhere, but I couldn't find a definite answer. If someone wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction. Thanks

LambdaCalculus:
Under Rockbox, you can use microSDHC cards. In theory, cards up to 32GB in size will work.

(Note: I say "in theory" because 32GB cards haven't come out yet, so we're hoping. ;))

Alright so I got my rockbox, but it's version 2. And still I could never find a definite answer on how much I can expand on a regular sansa e280. If anyone could point me towards the answer. I'd greatly appreciate it.

LambdaCalculus379 just told you!
In the OF, you could only use microSD cards up to 2 GB.
In rockbox, you can use microSD cards up to 4 GB (that's how big they make them) and microSDHC cards up to a theoretical 32 GB ('cause they only go up to 8 GB now).
BUT, if you use a card bigger than 2 GB, you better have a card reader because the OF won't support them and be able to transfer to them due to current lack of rockbox USB support.

These forums are for rockbox only.  If you have a Sansa v2 which is non-rockboxable, ask Sandisk what its capabilities are.
