Hi, I'm a student from Malta, and I own an Ipod Nano 2 gB. Ever since I owned it (must be a couple of years now - exchanged a creative zen micro for it), I've been using Rockbox. Apart from the coolness of being opensource, it also had some pretty good games. Then the mpegplayer came out, although..it had huge problems with audio/sync..however, it still beat the original firmware.
Friends at school - amazed..especially some Mac junkies, who had to admit that Rockbox really thumps the Apple firmware. As one of my friend said..it's got everything, even a damn dictionary!! The only criticism was that the interface didn't look as streamlined..but, that's nitpicking, and easily solvable with a WPS.
Lately, I updated rockbox..and..wow..the mpeg player works like a charm. Excellent work! I'm using winff on ubuntu linux to convert divx-es and they play really well on the ipod. So far I've only played music vids, and as far I can discern, audio sync is pretty damn perfect. My only beef is that fast forward and rewind can be a little slow..but hey, we didn't have seeking before, so I'm not complaining.
Battery life isn't that good, but I am not sure whether to attribute that to the life of the Nano (must be over 3 years now) or Rockbox itself. No big deal though. My only worry is that I won't be able to find another Nano 1st generation to replace it with, heh.
If it weren't for you developers, I'd be buying an Ipod Classic or an Ipod Video to play vids on the move. Now, I can use my Nano. Sure, I don't have the screensize, but then I can play Doom, chess, frozen bubble, and sudoku as well..they can't

So, thanks, congratulations, and keep up the good work!
