Ipod click wheel noise in 5.5 gen (or any applicable)

<< < (2/2)

DancemasterGlenn:
Just one last post to get out of my system on the subject, unless it does get picked up again.

I was looking at the summer of code projects coming up, and I decided I'd throw out the idea to nominate this feature for a summer of code project. With the patch already started there seems to be some groundwork done, and so theoretically it might be a good size project for summer work. Also, I like the idea because it's quirky, even though it would obviously be only useful for ipods which use the speaker. While I do sincerely doubt that google will pay anyone for something as trivial as this, I figured it was worth a shot to at least say something about it, and maybe take one more shot at stirring up some interest.

I know everyone on the forum is tired of hearing this, but GOD I wish I knew more about coding...

AlexP:
I sincerely doubt this is nearly big enough for a SoC project.  Also, it only affects the iPods, and is a minor feature.  I think we really would want something much more substantial for Rockbox as a whole for a project as big as the SoC.

Please do not double post.

DancemasterGlenn:
Yeah, I figured. Usually I'm good about not double posting, so I apologize for the unnecessary post. Sorry, everyone.

PaulPosition:
Just as an info, iRiver H10's also use a piezo electric clickety thing when using the original firmware. Not that I think they're the same one as far as hardware goes, though.
