Sansa e200 and usb and chargers?

As noted in the link you posted to the tracker, the charge circuit on the e200 is currently not enabled unless you've added FS#8363.  

The charger will apply some current (50ma) if the battery voltage is dangerously low (< 3 volts), but this should never happen as Rockbox will power down to protect the battery at 3.3V.

So what does that say about people who claim it works with the current build?  Is the Rhapsody model any different in this regard?

I don't think it resets the register after booting, so its possible some people have a bootloader that initializes the charger.  I'd be somewhat surprised though, it would be an odd thing for the bootloader to worry about since it only runs for a few seconds.

What about the c200s (specifically, the c250)?

I acquired the patch mentioned, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to apply it. Is it possible the patch will be "applied" to the current build anytime soon? Or can someone help me apply the thing?  :-[
