enable "load to ram" and "dircache"

What do I have to patch, if I want these features to become available?
If I use the current build (for the Sansa) these options aren't available, but in Kugels build they are (for example) - is there any wiki where I can read about things like that

They don't make sense on a flash target. Both of them exist to counter disk spinup time, something the Sansa doesn't have to deal with. Why do you want them available?

Was there some weirdness with the database that was worked around by enabling them? Or am I thinking of an old bug thats been fixed?

Database auto-update used to require one of them, if I recall, but I'm pretty sure this is no longer the case. It *may* be that detecting removed files still requires dircache, actually, but I'm not sure. That's part of why I was asking why he wanted it.

I thought there where some cases where you need these features, especially "Load to RAM" and all custom build I saw have it enabled, so I thought I ask how to do it.
I use the Database a lot and I wanted to test if I can increase the speed a little.
