Converting wad to rkp files.

(1/1)

RAIN.PL:
As the topic says, do you guys think is this possible? I mean can someone make program to convert rockbox compatible games to rockchip supported format (.rkp). It would be cool if rockchip- based players users can play doom and other games :)

Sorry if my English was bad, I did my best.

GodEater:
Yes it's possible - but:

a) It would be a really really really time consuming piece of work
and
b) Has nothing to do with rockbox

Yes but rockchip users can't use rockbox so it's a little unfair and when we can  somehow use your work (I mean games you make) it is like using rockbox.

Not really, rockbox is a DAP firmware for playing music, the plugins are candy on top (IMO).  Anyway, the source code is available for all of rockbox, so to convert the games you wil need to convert them from using the rockbox plugin api to whatever the rockchip uses.

As far as I know, there is not even a free compiler for the mips like architecture of the rockchips.

Are there any forums for people who own rockchip based DAPs? That would probably a better place to ask for help with porting games or better: porting rockbox.
