Playback problems with NSF files
Sherv:
Hey guys! I've been trying to troubleshoot this problem on my own for a long while now and I'm in need of help. Basically, on both my iAudio X5 and on my current iPod 80gb video I have had major issues while attempting NSF playback. I've searched and read around for anyone else experiencing similar problems but it doesn't appear to be plaguing anyone else which led me to believe that it's something I'm doing wrong...hopefully someone can help me out.
Basically, playback is crippled on my devices insofar as when I play any NSF file the controls and display sort of lock up. By "sort of" I mean that I can seek (change) the tracks within the file (as denoted by the progress bar or track number) but the music won't change to reflect that, there is a lag. Additionally, there is a very long delay if I try to exit the WPS and enter the file browser or even pause playback.
Any ideas?
edit: oh I forgot to add that my build is r16095. I have also begun to experience strange playback issues such as the track starting over again or pausing briefly (the playback indicator actually displays itself as being paused, without my intervention)
LambdaCalculus:
I'm having somewhat similar issues with my iPod and Sansa c240, wherein changing tracks within the file cause the WPS to suddenly display garbage characters for the artist, album, and title fields, or constantly jump through tracks by itself.
For the record, all of my PortalPlayer devices are using SVN build r16095-080116, and this seems to have been ongoing for about two months now.
Sherv:
Ah, good to hear someone else sharing similar problems. I'll draft up a bug report then, just wanted to verify that I'm not the only user experiencing this...
LambdaCalculus:
Okay. Post the FS# once you do so I can comment on the bug report.
I'm also going to point the devs to the FS entry so they can take a look at it.
Llorean:
Generally speaking, you don't need to "point" the devs at a FS#. Those devs who are actually interested in bugs tend to subscribe to the FS mailing list or RSS feed anyway.
