MPEG Player - Request
« on: January 16, 2008, 12:48:16 AM »
Just like to request ability to play in greyscale even on color targets, I need the extra framerate for fullscreen and I do watch b/w movies (iPod color 224x176 doesn't reach 24fps in color).
Thanks.
ps the ability to play in greyscale, faster, is now in cvs.

You may want to lower the frame rate of the video so you can get fullscreen to play back smoothly.

I'm not sure, but I think that having Rockbox convert to grayscale may actually slow down rendering.

The changes made there have all been made in the lcd drivers for greyscale targets, and are largely (if not wholly) irrelevant for colour targets.

As cool_walking_ says, you may just have to lower your framerate to get better playback of your movies, regardless of whether they're b&w or colour.

I believe you could just encode your videos without chroma data, but don't quote me on this until you've done some research.
